Rose and Raindrop Pub Last updated by shane on Wed, 11/03/2004 - 12:46pm Rose & Raindrop Pub
The Rose & raindrop is housed in the Barbur Blocks Building, a registered historic building and one of the oldest standing commercial buildings in Portland. Built in 1890, the building was one of the first multi story brick buildings on the east side of the river and one of the nicest funeral parlors on the west coast. Through the years the building has housed a vaudevillian theatre, a nickelodeon, a laundry, a furniture store and several other various businesses. In 1977, the Burns Brothers bought and refurbished the building, staying true to the architectural style of the 19th century and marking its first use as a restaurant, Digger O'Dells. In 1996, Don Younger and Mel Hickman began operating as The Rose &; Raindrop. Now under new ownership, we are committed to serving high quality food and drink at reasonable prices. We offer a distinctive dining experience in the comfortable and friendly atmosphere that has become the standard by which the Rose &; Raindrop is known. 532 S.E. Grand,
