There is nothing stopping your from towing your boats, just like during trekking or biking. A short stretch of bungee cord will work wonders for this. Especially if you have a boat with two paddlers, and a boat with a single paddler, a single paddler will have a much harder time keeping up.

If water conditions are too brutal for your paddling experience, you may want to consider rafting multiple boats together. Use a paddle and cord to tie the boats side-to-side. Then you can paddle them like a raft, at the sides, and use a paddle as a rudder in the back. This should create a more stable platform for you. However, test this first!
