Henry Hagg Lake Recreation Area (South of Forest Grove) Last updated by shane on Sun, 05/16/2004 - 8:36am Local (from Hillsboro, OR): Just go west on Highway 8 (the Tualatin Valley Highway) through Hillsboro until you see the Forest Grove junction with Highway 47. Go left (south) on Highway 47 until you see the Scoggins Valley Park/Henry Hagg Lake signs (5.9 miles). Turn right at the signs and drive straight to the Park entrance (3.7 miles). Once you arrive, ask the attendant at the gate for information. Welcome! Take Highway 26 (Sunset Highway) west to the Hillsboro exit at Cornell Road, and follow the road signs to downtown Hillsboro. Cornell Road will curve through the countryside, taking you past the Hillsboro Airport and Washington County Fairgrounds, and then change into 10th Avenue. At the intersection of Highway 8 (Tualatin Valley Highway) and 10th Avenue, turn west (right) onto Highway 8 (Tualatin Valley Highway), and go west to the east end of the City of Forest Grove. You will pass through the City of Hillsboro, City of Cornelius, and arrive at the east end of the City of Forest Grove, where Highway 47 meets Highway 8. You will see a major intersection , complete with signage directing you to Henry Hagg Lake. Take Highway 47 (south) towards the City of Gaston for approximately 5.9 miles, until you arrive at the intersection of Highway 47 and Scoggins Valley Road. There will be a flashing yellow light. Turn right on Scoggins Valley Road, and head west for approximately one and a half miles. You will pass the Lake Stop Store, Stimson's Lumber Mill, and finally arrive at our new Park Entrance Fee Booth which sits at the entrance to the Park. Welcome! More information about Hagg Lake can be found on the Washington County Hagg Lake website. There is a park entrance fee which currently (July 2003) is $4 per vehicle, check the website for details.Recreation area map:
