Looking for a Marathon running partner
Submitted by Sean McC
Wed, 02/14/2007 - 1:32pm

Hey there,
I am currently preparing for the Eugene Marathon which is April 29th. I would love to have some company once in awhile during my long Saturday morning run. I will be running 12 - 16 miles most Saturdays. I usually run around 9 min mile pace for these long runs but would be fine with going a little faster or slower. Early Saturdays work best for me. Let me know if you are interested.

Training event
Submitted by cardwellp
Wed, 09/20/2006 - 6:37pm

Is anyone interested in helping me put together an informal training/race at Hagg Lake or some where else in Novemeber. I was thinking that we could kayak, bike and run for 3-6 hours. Anyone interested? I have helped to organized an official race but this would be more informal and free! I could use help to create the maps, place the CP's and bring beer. The lake is open until the weekend before Thanksgiving. Thanks

Mountain Biking the Tarbell Trail; Recap by Sean McCarthy

The morning started with coffee in hand and a windy drive to the beginning of our snowshoe trip. . Wait . . . weren’t we suppose to be going mountain biking ?!? See this is the thing with mountain biking. As the term mountain biking  states you are biking on a mountain. And this time of year there is still a lot of snow on the mountains in particular with the low snow levels we had just a week or so ago.

Saturdays brick on the Wild Side
Submitted by Sean McC
Mon, 02/27/2006 - 8:52am

Thanks for everyone who came out and rode the wild side this last Saturday. We had a nice dry day and the trails were in great condition. The hills are still as steep as before so we got a chance to even use some of our towing gear. We hope to post some other trainings and see some more of you out there !!

Anyone for SuperX Sunday?
Submitted by Renee
Tue, 07/26/2005 - 8:26am

This Sunday (7/31) is the XDog SuperX duathlon. I'm going and have a shiny new car that can take people and bikes. Anyone want to go?

It's a typical XDog event; hard, muddy, wet, beer afterwards (which I won't drink, so you can have my share).

Check it out at http://www.xdogevents.com/html/super_x.html

E-mail me at reneeseker at yahoo dot com if you're interested.

Weekend AR Training with Inspired Adventure (Mt Hood area)
Submitted by kcreager
Thu, 10/09/2003 - 5:22pm

Wanted to write a quick report on how the excellent weekend training went. I cut-n-pasted a write-up by steve-slow-but-sure from the WAR message site! So much credit goes to Steve!

Inspired Adventure usually does a weekend training, but I contacted Matt several months ago to set up a special 3-day training deal - it was sure worth it.

We travelled down (for some reason we all came from Seattle, where was the Oregon representation??) to the Mt Hood area on Wednesday afternoon, and met with Matt at the Mountain Air Lodge (Matt's cabin in the woods) http://www.inspiredadventure.net/news.html

Tarbell Trail Ride Report
Submitted by Paul
Mon, 08/18/2003 - 11:11am

Hi Gang,

A big thanks to the 9 people who came out to do the Tarbell Trail Ride yesterday. We could not have asked for better weather or a better trail!

We headed out from REI at about 12 noon and by the time we got out there and got the bikes and gear set up, it was about 1:30 pm. We distributed maps to the 3 main groups, the "bombers" made up of folks who would be going all out the entire loop, the middle of the pack folks and the "sweepers" made up of Beate, who was doing her first technical ride, Julie, who is normally a bomber, but was coming out after a full day of paddling, running and riding on Saturday and myself who wanted to make sure everyone got through the course in one piece...

Submitted by shane
Mon, 04/14/2003 - 10:16am

I attended the Northwest Adventures TRIOBA Race clinic this last weekend (April 12th and 13th). The training was held on Lake Cle Elum, and in the Wenatchee National Forest area, Northeast of Cle Elum, Washington. Here's an accounting of the training event, and some teaser information about the first 24 hour TRIOBA race, and the area we'll be covering for that race.
