Meet at the Marquam Trail Nature Park at 6:30 sharp and we'll head uphill to Council Crest and then come back down. Should take less than 1 hour, so no excuses.

Don't forget water, appropriate clothing and a headlamp in your pack.

Marquam Trail to Council Crest Marquam Trail

Get in a nice hill workout by joining us for the run from the Marquam Trail Nature Park up to Council Crest... and then back down. Will take about 45 minutes and you get to log a 700' gain. No one has coughed up a lung yet, so don't be afraid.

Don't forget to bring enough water, appropriate clothing for the weather and a headlamp in your pack just in case.

Please RSVP.

Marquam Trail to Council Crest Marquam Trail

Last Trail Run - we'll start biking in April.
We've turned the corner and are doing our night trail runs in the fading daylight now thanks to Daylight Savings Time. Come join us at 6:30 p.m. for a nice run on a little known trail that IS NOT in Forest Park.

Meet at the Marquam Trail Nature Park, just off Sam Jackson Parkway (see link above in the Location field for a map). Several showed up last week and enjoyed the city views from the top of Council Crest. Run is about 45 minutes and you get to log a nice elevation gain.

Renee: So it's 6:21 p.m. on 3/5 and I'm in my car listening to KNRK's Cocktail Mix waiting for others to show for our trail run. A song by The Beloved comes on where they name off all these people. I'm thinking... where's everyone, why doesn't anyone show up to these fun night trail runs? So here goes my version of "Hello" by The Beloved, (which I have on cassette but you can Google it to get the tune): Hello Shane, Hello Reed and Andrea. Where's Beate? Where's Todd and Sean Mc.? Where's Marky T? Where's Russ and Lee and Issiah? Where's Susan? Hello Paul. Where is everyone? Hello hello hello!

New Route for March Marquam Trail to Council Crest

We're getting out of Forest Park. Come check out the Marquam Trail. The start is at a shelter at the Marquam Nature Park near OHSU, just northwest of Duniway Park/Track and the Metro YMCA. We'll run up to Council Crest for some nice city views and then back on some different trails to the shelter. Distance is a little over 4 miles. We'll probably run for around an hour. http://www.ohsu.edu/greenteam/mnp_trail_map.pdf for a map of the trails and trailhead. You can Google Maps "SW Marquam St" for directions to get there.

If you've never done trail running at night, it's a great chance to practice for 24-hr races or just to fit in a workout if your days are too busy. Night time trail running builds excellent running skills by forcing you to pay attention and react quickly.

Same parking spot as January's Runs, but different route>> Cornell Rd and Wildwood Trail

We will run a loop mostly on the Wildwood Trail, but will also be on Wild Cherry and Leif Erikson for a bit. Generally multiple groups with differing speeds will form, so you should find a comfortable pace group to run with.
