Centered in Portland, Oregon, the 350+ members of the Oregon Ocean Paddling Society (OOPS) are engaged in a rich variety of sea kayak activities at all levels. The PDX Sea Kayaker group uses a Yahoo Forum for sea boaters in and around Portland, Oregon, to plan trips, discuss local events, conditions, etc.

The current membership is focused on traditional sea kayaks, gear, paddling destinations, safety, and pretty much what ever floats your boat.

The PDX Girl Paddler group represents a women's only enclave within the PDXkayaker (Portland region, Oregon) whitewater kayaking community where they can have private discussions, plan trips, meet other boaters, encourage new boaters, post pictures, and speak freely about those things that may be too "girly" for other sites. Currently, the PDX Girl Kayaker group organizes and communicates via a Yahoo Group.

  • Promoting safe, responsible mountain biking.
  • Uniting the mountain bike community, by sponsoring trail work parties and publishing a monthly newsletter.

BARK is our equivalent organization, just based out of Bend. They have a good membership, and a strong program going there. In addition, there are several sponsored/elite racers that live in Bend, which contribute to the training and activities of the BARK grouip.
