CROC returns with its fifth 8/12/24 hour orienteering "rogaine" event at the Big Muddy Ranch near Antelope OR. This year, the event has been designated the North American Rogaine Championship event. This means the course will be that much more challenging, and a larger number of experienced competitors from around the US and Canada will be attending. Join the Columbia River Orienteering Club (CROC) for an afternoon and evening of orienteering at Champoeg State Park and Heritage Area.

Day O will start in the eastern part of the park. CROC signs at the park's entrance will direct you to the start area. Day-O registration opens at noon. White, Yellow, and Sprint courses are open from noon to 3 p.m.

An evening potluck at the group shelter starts at 5 p.m.

Three-hour score-O orienteering event. Mass start at 11:30 AM, registration is 10:30 to 11:30. Look for the CROC orienteering signs or go to www.croc.org for more information.

Registration will begin at 6 p.m., with a mass start at 6:30 p.m. Participants, whether runners or walkers, will choose between a 60 or 90 minute score-o, visit as many control points as possible, and make it back to the Lucky Lab within the time limit. Points will be taken off for each minute over.

This is a very fun event. Nothing like the rush of being chased through the woods!!!! You can make it a real workout by trying to win, or just practice your orienteering skills.
