Wicked Mountain
March 26, 2005Mt. Hood Meadows Lodge, Oregon UPDATE: No XC Skiing in the Mountain race. The weather's too good this Spring! But there's still plenty of snow shoeing and we have free snow shoe rental in limited supply through Next Adventure for the first respondants to let us know they need them. There's very little snow, but we're still planning a fantastic race! With over 10,000 feet of elevation, Mt. Hood offers exciting, challenging terrain, no matter what the weather conditions are. This March the mountain is bathed in sunlight and amazingly blue skies, everything is bursting out in Spring Green, and we're going to make the best of the unusually fantastic weather. Keeping an eye on the gorgeous views from Mt Jefferson and the Three Sisters, all the way up to Mt. Rainier, we're adjusting the course to the current conditions to create a challenging and memorable race, one that you and your muscles aren't likely to soon forget! We may even include some moutain biking in this race (stay tuned for details). So, we hope you're training for this one, and stocking up on the sunscreen! We're proud to be partnering with Mt. Hood Meadows Lodge to host a challenging Mountain Multi-Sport event. The Mountain race will kick-off the 2005 Wicked Adventure Sprint Series. Come on out to Mt. Hood and test your mettle and navigation skills against other teams on the fun and challenging slopes of America's "Most Climbed" mountain! You'll get the opportunity to Snowshoe, Trek, Navigate, and do Ropes in this race. In addition, there will be some fun but tough twists! Choose from a highly challenging 5-10 Hour format for experienced racers, or a 2-5 Hour format for beginning to intermediate racers. After the race, join us to warm up with a delicious hot lasagna buffet, while we announce the race standings, award prizes, and raffle off some great gear from our fantastic sponsors.
